Welcome to “God’s Word to You”!
God’s Word to You today is found in Acts 1:78
7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The Book of Acts is full of such an amazing example of how to build a church. It shares how the young church met together, broke bread together and shared lives and abilities and blessings together.
It tell of miracles done by the disciples as well as hundreds even thousands coming to Christ even in the midst of persecution. There is even more than enough reason to understand Jesus is so much more than a man or prophet just in the way the disciples lived and died for Him after He ascended.
One of the coolest things that happened in the Book of Acts is the Holy Spirit finally coming to live with us. Our lesson this week emphasizes how much we need the Holy Spirit and how thru Him we are able to do so much more than just by having Christ with us.
I know there are times I set the Spirit aside and try to do things on my own. I know there are times I attempt to set my plans above God’s even if without thinking I do. I know I have even at times tried to share the Gospel on my own.
And yet I know all I have to do is call on Him and He is there to encourage and guide me to the truth and always takes over when I let go.
Oh how much easier life is when I let Him lead but I fear just like you I tend to want to lead the dance instead of following.
Today I prayed for each of you who will read this message. I prayed today you will feel, listen to and hear as well as allow the Holy Spirit in a way like you never have before. Today I pray He leads you and guides you and you feel so connected with Him that whatever He shows you will seem so easy to follow that you will do so without even realizing it.
And I pray He leads you to the blessing of oneness with the Father and you feel how blessed it can be.
