Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in Proverbs 22:2
2 Rich and poor have this in common:
The Lord is the Maker of them all.
This World is full of people who think they are better than other people. Some think so because of their birth. Some think so because of their station in life. Some do so because of race, others because of social status and there are even those who think what they believe spiritually is what set them high above others.
The last is sad because there are even those who call themselves Christian who feel they are better than others. That may be why some denominations have a harder time getting along with some others and why some of the lost have a hard time with “religion”.
I even have a coworker who “believes in a higher power” and that “power” will take care of all of us when we die and take us to a “higher” place. I almost was going to share something I heard from a former pastor about that type of thinking but since I was at work I didn’t.
It seems he has this idea to share with those type about an airport. If we take their thought process and apply it to the real world then you could go to any airport, get on any plane and you should be able to get where you want to go.
You know, some of the people I know who think like that also look down on Christians because according to them, we are too narrow minded to see that there can be more than one way to heaven and to god. I didn’t capitalize those words because I am speaking of a generic place and god of their beliefs.
Now my point isn’t to be mean or pick on certain groups or anything like that. My point is very simple today. My point is no matter what group of peoples you belong with or views you have, chances are there is someone you look down on.
God looks down on us all. He also loves us all. He also told us to love one another. He said do so as He does.
Seems to me in His eyes there are none too rich, none too poor, none too good nor none too bad to be reached by His love.
Shucks. I guess it means we need to love everyone huh? The problem is love isn’t an adjective, it is a verb. Get it? Then do it.
me n’ God love ya
