God’s Word to You today is found in
1 Peter 1:23-25
23 For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24 For,
“All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25 but the word of the Lord endures forever.”
And this is the word that was preached to you.
Matthew 28:20b
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
We faces challenges daily. Sometimes we face the mountaintop. Sometimes the world seems like it is totally cloaked in darkness and we can’t see Him anywhere. It is like He has totally left us.
Sometimes we seek only the light at the end of the tunnel, the one soft breeze whispering “I am here”. We call out to Him, we pray for Him to reveal Himself but we just don’t seem to see any results.
In the last two weeks I have had intentional contact by two brothers in Christ in very difficult situations. My answer to both was He is still here. He is still with you.
I pray for both of them. I pray He comforts and gives them peace.
But the one visit yesterday was totally different from the first.
Yesterday I decided to go open the front door at work and as I was opening it and propping it with a wedge I saw a customer walking from far out of the parking lot. I recognized him as someone I have talked to God about. We actually belong to the same church although different locations.
As he walked up I saw tears in his eyes and as he leaned on the opposite side of the door from me he shared a question.
He asked me how the Holy Spirit had been pouring into my life lately.
I shared a few things and told of how in the last month I have been filled at times and poured out at times. I shared we have had some trials and mountaintops. I shared I feel blessed in both and how God seemed to give me enough to share no matter where the gauge was. And how just when I felt it may be getting low He offered more.
He then told me his father had passed away a few days earlier and he had buried him two days before. As he was headed to a job he thought of me and our conversations and decided to come by and ask me to come outside and speak with him for a few minutes and just as he got out of his truck I walked outside and propped the door open. He knew God was working.
I was able to be there with him for several minutes as he shared circumstances where God was glorified as well as present during this hard time. He shared with tears how God had allowed him to to know in the last weeks that his father knows Him. And he shared he knew I was a brother who cares and loves God and that was why God put me on his heart to speak with.
I teared up too. And then others came in needing my services with my work. We shook hands and as he left he had thank you and God is good in his eyes.
God uses us in so many ways. And often He uses us when we may not really know it.
But here is are some amazing truths.
He is always with us.
He will always fill us up.
The more we pour out He will pour in.
We may not see Him and won’t when we look inward instead of outward.
But even then He is still only a prayer away.
And last, there may be someone out there who needs our faith, our hope, our help and even just our love.
Pour it out, He will pour it back in.
me n’ God love ya
