God’s Word to You today is Exodus 4:10-13
10 Moses said to the Lord, “O lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
11 The Lord said to Him, “Who gave this man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
13 But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”
Have you ever heard of Moses? You know, the guy they picked Charlton Heston to play in that movie about a Bible story? He had a problem. He was comfortable where he was at. But God had different plans.
Sometimes we get comfortable and don’t want change. Sometimes we picture how life should be, where we work, live, who we must have in our lives and who shouldn’t be. Sometimes we decide God just has to understand we know better how our lives should be and dog gone it, we do whatever we have to maneuver it to make it follow our desires.
And one of the main things we do is get set in our comfort zone and woe to anyone who tries to pry us out of it. I love the phrase “Well, I just don’t feel called to fill in the blank.” the truth is even if they are called they just don’t want to because it is uncomfortable, undesirable, or just not my bag.
I am one who loves to get people out of their zones. And you know what? I’m comfortable doing it. And yes I too have a comfortable zone. So part of my challenge is this. I am doing things at this time that are out of my comfort zone. I am going places, making different life decisions and even committing to God to see who and where He desires me to be.
It has already made me change some priorities and I am a little nervous as well as excited. I don’t know how He will use me or where but, even though I don’t know the future I know He will be with me. Its actually kinda cool, so please say a prayer for me as I pray for each of you.
The challenge today is an old one. Get our of your box. Stop putting God in one. Take a chance and ask Him what He wants and be available. And as always and forever..
me n’ God love ya
