Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in 1 Peter 2:24
24 He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.
cancer.
Just the word said or written can bring such a wide variety of emotions.
I doubt any of us hasn’t had our lives touched in some way by it.
Years ago we lost one husky to it and now have a second one who will have a shorter life due to it. I had it a couple of years ago and Dawn and I both have had family who had or have it.
So many of my friends either have passed away or are survivors. Even tonite as I write this I found out a young lady who went to church with us and even a mission trip has it.
But even though medicine hasn’t found a complete cure we have a Savior how cures all illness. And tonite as I sat here thinking about my sister in Christ and the struggle just beginning for her I couldn’t help but think of His sacrifice on the cross and exactly what it means.
See, we live in a world full of cancer. And there is another cancer called sin that spreads its way among us and is constantly all around us.
Sometimes it lays unseen yet is still destroying our lives and the lives of others. It may be obvious and open and those with it may think it only affects them so it is alright. But the truth is cancer and sin both destroy and wreck not only the lives of those who have it but those who care and love the inflicted.
I wish I could write to you there is a cure for cancer. I can’t as far as a physical cure. But there is a cure for our eternity. There is a cure for our sin. Any and all of our sin can be forgiven.
And that cure is Jesus. Simple, and honestly almost unbelievable. But true.
As I sit here I just prayed for my sister in Christ, Vanessa. I pray for God to hold her and help her know He is near. I pray for healing and comfort, both physical and spiritual.
And I pray for all those facing cancer. And all those facing sin. I pray His love over all and for Him to be known.
Cool thing? He listens. Honest, try talking to Him.
me n’ God love ya
