Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in
2 John 1:10
10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.
1 Corinthians 4:1-5
1 This, then, is how you ought to regard us: as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the mysteries God has revealed. 2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 3 I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. 4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
Romans 14:10-13
10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. 11 It is written:
“‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will acknowledge God.’”
12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.
13 Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another.
Matthew 10:16
16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Ok, this was a mouthful. Especially since it was brought to me by a simple statement from a fellow Christian who challenged others salvation if they didn’t agree that we should allow all people into our country.
Now those who know me know I have a heart for the world. There are hundreds of Venezuelans I would love to see in our country instead of living the way they have to at this time. I pray for Venezuelan and Venezuelans daily.
But I don’t have the power to get them here and truthfully, God has them there for some reason or else the doors would open.
And that brings us to our President and his order about some other countries and people being able to come here from them.
He is our President whether we like him or not. And my Bible tells me to follow the laws of the land. But that is another message.
Today I want to try to make an attempt to bring us together on a simple point. And it isn’t totally about watching our borders although partially it is.
The first and last verses tell us to be careful about who we let into our homes and country if you will as well as where they need to be in our lives. We must use discernment about who they are and what they want. In the case of the people from the countries involved in the order we know many of them are of a religion that stands firmly against Christ. Not only that but some, no not all, but some of them are radical and seek to do harm and or murder as many Americans as possible.
Yes, there are more of them who are hurting and persecuted and seeking help, and yes we must do something to help them, but the challenge is what and how. What we do must be done at the least amount of risk to our own country and that is getting more and more difficult. My own views will be kept silent for now but that is my point. There are two basic opposite views in our country and until we can agree with a majority I surrender my view to be one of unity and safety. Plus the plan has a timetable and a focus to be more discerning as well as keeping our hearts and help available.
Now my main point. The second and third verse give us the answer to do I get to tell other Christians they aren’t really Christians. No. We can see their fruit and at best see them as weak, baby or backsliding but never they are not saved. Only God knows.
And if we see our brother sin we can go to them in love, in love, in love and tell them what we see. In love. Did you get that? It isn’t in the verses today but they are coming.
But point blank accusing someone of not being a Christian on social media is not ok. Did I say not? Ok, not ok.
We have a whole world out there that has more lost than saved souls and we don’t need immature Christians out there showing them how divided we are. Instead we need more mature ones privately reaching out to them and mentoring them and helping them grow into mature Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
In love. Did I say in love?
So what is the bottom line? We seriously need more disciples in this world than complacent Christians. The world is going further and further away from Him and we need revival. And it starts with me… and you.
Lets do this.
me n’ God love ya
