God’s Word to You today is John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Satan is full of lies and one of the best ways he works is religion. Yep, the old evil one uses religion to scoot people away form the truth.
One of his weapons is using our own selfish desires to lead us where we hear what we want to hear and don’t have to feel bad about our actions and… get what we want.
There are tons of foolish religions out there but the worst one is the Christian ones that distort God’s Word and push self promotion and prosperity. Here are some simple truths.
If you live your life as God says then you will have the wealth you need to live in this life. Why? Because you won’t go foolishly buying whatever you want nor borrowing more than you should, actually you won’t borrow anything you will pay for what you have when you get it.
You will be dept free and also a hard worker. You won’t need to be on welfare or cheat at taxes and most important, you will honor God by giving back the first 10% of what you make.
That, along with smartly utilizing what you make will make your household strong and you will need no excuses as to why the world isn’t fair or you can’t get a break you are just waiting for the right opportunity. You also won’t be a burden to your family friends or society.
And now to what Jesus means in this verse. Simply put, He has the life for you in your growth, following and being in His will that will give you more out of life than you can imagine. He has blessings and opportunities for you to honor Him with your life and adventure after adventure waiting to show you amazing sights and miracles as well as allowing you to make a difference in other’s lives and the world.
What He doesn’t mean is He has riches and nice cars and homes and the most handsome or beautiful person for you to marry and a life of abundant toys and desires fulfilled. I know that crushes some ideas and sermons but folks, if Jesus meant for us to live like kings just because we are His then He would have come as a king Himself and never suffered. In His suffering we are made alive, in our suffering we show His life to a world that needs Him. If the world thinks believing in Him will bring them what they want then they don’t really know Him and we haven’t shared Him as He is.
