Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in 1 Timothy 1:12-14
12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that He considered me trustworthy, appointing me to His service. 13 Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. 14 The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
I was recently discussing with someone about how we still have to reap what we have sown in life. There are doors that have been closed to me and some opened because of things I did before I got saved.
Some people, I think, believe that because God forgives us for all of our sins, that people should also. In a sense that is true. But if I have done crimes against humanity and have done serious evil things and then come to Christ I also think it is unreal to expect people to trust me with open arms with those things that may tempt me.
I am not saying we judge those who are saved. But I also know that God gives us according to what we are able to bear fruit with. If I haven’t shown God I am ready to handle a certain task then it is unrealistic for me to expect Him to completely open a door to it.
Neither should I expect more of man, especially since he is not perfect like Him.
But thank God that He doesn’t hold my past against me. Thank God that He saves me from it. Thank God that He prepares me for His work and His plan for His glory.
me n’ God love ya
