God’s Word to You is gripe
I thought since today is the last day of the month that I’d hit on a subject we all need to face. It’s one that has grown exponentially in these last 16 years in our country. Its part of the Burger King Syndrome virus pandemic.
I want to use Paul as an example of a man with all kinds of reasons to gripe. But show me a verse where he did. The man was beaten often, went overboard from a boat, in jail several times, chased, bitten and even condemned and tempted, yet I see nowhere that he held a pity party or whined because life wasn’t fair.
Folks, there may not have been the technological advances or as many people around nor social media at that time but life definitely was nowhere as easy as it is for every person today in our country. Yet we whine about skin color, equality, minorities rights, income, insurance and how much other people make and so much more, don’t we?
And that’s just the believers. The worldly gripe even more. If that’s possible.
We have even come up with our own version of super heroes, the social warrior, to make sure the country and the planet are safe.
I can only imagine the look on Christ’s face. Actually I can’t. But I can think of the words He would use today. They are the answer to all our problems and prayers. The real problem is we don’t believe in Him enough. It’s why we need the new super heroes. Or think we do.
Matthew 16:23
23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”
Luke 9:23
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
Just be His. For real.
