Revelation 19:11-16
The Rider on a White Horse
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems, and He has a name written that no one knows but Himself. 13 He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which He is called is The Word of God. 14 And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following Him on white horses. 15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. 16 On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Revelation 4:2-8
2 At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. 6 Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
“‘Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,
‘who was, and is,
and is to come.”
Isn’t it amazing how God uses simple things to humble us?
Dawn and I were blessed to spend a few hours with a brother from another country today. We ate and talked for a coupe of hours and caught up on him and his family as well as how things are in his country.
He also shared how blessed he was to be here. He said being in the USA was like being in a dream.
Compared to how his country is existing today I can understand it. And how sweet and what a blessing to see him so amazed by our food, streets, cars, homes and how friendly he found the people to be.
Strangely enough we always think the same thing about his people. And we went to the Gibson Guitar factory and he was able to play a couple of guitars. The young man working the counter was amazing and nice and complemented him on his playing as well as spent several minutes talking to him about music.
He had the biggest grin on his face as he played his first note that carried through until we left. It blessed our souls to see him like a kid in a candy shop. And everything he experienced is so common to us yet so amazing to him.
And it made my think. Not just how we in the USA take too much for granted. It made me think about how we Christians take too much for granted.
Tell me, did you get excited when you were first saved? Did you feel like telling the world about Jesus? Were you temporarily on fire?
And did it cool off. Did the world get in the way. Did the fact that you don’t have to worry about going to Heaven become everyday and taken for granted?
How cool would it be if we woke up each day thinking “ Wow I know Jesus and I know I am His and I know there are those around me who don’t know Him so how can I let my excitement for Him show Him to them?”
How would it be if our love for Him made each day a dream for us instead of a chore? How would it be if His love made us live like dreamers who have to share His love or explode?
How would it be if we really appreciated how much He gives us each day instead of wishing for more and more.
How would it be?
me n’ God love ya
thanks Raymond
