God’s Word to You is 2 Samuel 7:28-29
28 And now, O Lord God, you are God, and your words are true, and you have promised this good thing to your servant. 29 Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”
We totally moved out of our home yesterday. It was exciting, a feeling of accomplishment and we both cried tears. Dawn has been in the home about half of her life. For me it was the longest I’ve ever lived in a home.
We both had so many firsts it would take volumes to proclaim them all. It was our son’s home and full of firsts. It was Pop’s and Dee Dee’s house to both greandchildren. It was a place of refuge and strength. It was a place I met Jesus. It was so many things but mostly it was home.
We now start a new adventure and the process of making a new home., not just a house. We are excited as well as melancholy. We are blessed.
That is what we prayed as we left our old home. We thanked Him for the blessing it was to us and we prayed it will be a blessing to those who follow us in making it their home. It’s what we prayed for our new home. For it to bless us and to bless others and bless Him who gave it to us.
Prayer is a powerful thing. Our homes can be too. But I have to ask. Do you pray for your home? I’m sure you pray for family and friends and for blessings. But do you pray your home is known as His? Do you pray His presence is known and felt? Do you pray he is honored and He will welcome there?
If you do great. If you haven’t, try it. Be blessed. Be a blessing. It starts at home.
