Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in 1 John 2:21-23
21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
We have a lot going on in our city. During Easter we will have a convention of atheists here. Many are upset about that. I am only upset at the thought of all those lost souls doomed to damnation.
I remember being one. I remember denying God. I know both sides of the argument and I declare the problem with all atheists is two fold.
They have pride in themselves and a problem with authority. In other words they are selfish. But of course that is the only reason to deny God.
For me it was out of anger to begin with. And then it just became the proof in my head that denied Him. And there are those kids who are drug to church week after week when they are young, who are pounded with all these impossible rules and declarations who lose sight of or never see God’s love and beauty.
And they leave. Most will never return because they are forced to attend by parents who don’t know how to lead and don’t show God to the children in their lives. And those parents are hurt and mad and disappointed in those children even though they are very much a part of driving them from church.
In turn those children deny God and thus doom themselves.
Oh what a sad and depressing thought. Yet is the child lost to wander and even run any more sad than the atheist who for whatever reasons stands in defiance of God? No.
All of those lost and doomed to damnation are or should be the focus of our love and attention no matter who or where they are in our lives. The lost being found is the most precious and delightful event in our lives.
Really. If it is your family aren’t you excited when a member decides to follow Jesus and burdened when they deny Him?
Well we all are family in God’s eyes except those of us who are saved have been adopted into His household.
it is our commission and honor that God allows us a chance to show Him to them so they can have knowledge of Him to make a decision to accept Him or not.
Be the reason the lost choose Him, not a silent bystander. But don’t do it with a Bible thump, do it with His love.
me n’ God love ya
