Welcome to God’s Word to You
God’s Word to You today is found in 1 Samuel 15:7
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
I go to one of “those” churches.
You know the kind. It is one of those that some of those people with tattoos go to. Some people don’t wear suits. Or ties!
Even the pastor looks comfortable.
And oh my gosh!!! We let sinners in.
You know, the kind of people who don’t really know how to dress or may not even know how to respect all we believe and do. Some of them don’t even believe in God, I bet.
But thank God I go there. Thank God for churches like us.
No we aren’t perfect. Yes we welcome any one.
And that is what Jesus did. He loved on everyone. He called out the religious. He met with all people. No not everyone was drawn to Him. k No not everyone followed Him. But He was available to them anyway. He even asked the Father to forgive them., remember?
And yet there are people/churches in our country and all over the world who will turn away those who don’t dress “right”, are “clean” enough, respect the church as believers are supposed to and, hear this, go for the “right” reason.
And those are exactly the churches that Satan uses to drive the lost away. Those are exactly the legalistic, bigoted people who don’t show Christ to the world.
Sounds harsh doesn’t it?
I think so too. Jesus must be available to anyone and everyone or else the Gospel becomes only for the elite or special instead of salvation for the lost.
And that dear ones is not what Jesus would do.
He died for all of us.
me n’ God love ya
